Air Fryer S’mores – Gooey Campfire Treat in 4 Minutes
Air fryer s’mores take just 3–4 minutes at 180°C / 355°F. Graham crackers topped with marshmallows go in, the marshmallows puff and turn golden, and then a square of chocolate goes on top to melt in the leftover heat. It is the campfire treat without the campfire, ready any evening of the year.
The only tricky thing about s’mores in an air fryer is that marshmallows are very light and the fan is strong. Whole marshmallows can lift off, roll around and even stick to the heating element. Cutting them in half solves it completely, and that one step is what the method below is built around.
Air Fryer S’mores Timing
| Marshmallow | Temperature | Time |
| Regular, cut in half | 180°C / 355°F | 3–4 minutes |
| Jumbo / large | 180°C / 355°F | 4–5 minutes |
| Mini marshmallows | 180°C / 355°F | 2–3 minutes |
Ingredients

- 4 graham crackers, broken into 8 squares (digestive biscuits work too)
- 4 large marshmallows
- 1 bar milk chocolate (about 45 g / 1.5 oz), broken into squares
Outside North America, graham crackers can be hard to find. Digestive biscuits are the closest swap: slightly less sweet and a bit more crumbly, but they hold the marshmallow just as well.
How to Make S’mores in the Air Fryer
1. Cut the Marshmallows
Cut each marshmallow in half across the middle with scissors or a wet knife. The freshly cut side is sticky, and that stickiness is what holds it to the cracker.
2. Build the Bases
Place 4 cracker squares in the basket and press a marshmallow half, sticky side down, onto each one. Stack the second half on top if you like them extra thick.
3. Air Fry
Cook at 180°C / 355°F for 3–4 minutes until the marshmallows are puffed and golden. Stay close after 2 minutes; they go from golden to burnt very quickly.
4. Add Chocolate and Top
As soon as you open the basket, set a square of chocolate on each hot marshmallow and press another cracker on top. The heat melts the chocolate in about a minute.
5. Serve
Lift them out with a thin spatula and eat them warm.
- Light marshmallows can lift into the fan and stick to the heating element, so always cut them and press them firmly onto the crackers.
- Melted marshmallow is extremely hot and sticky; supervise children closely.
- Add the chocolate after cooking, not before, so it melts gently instead of scorching.
- Graham crackers contain wheat; use gluten-free crackers if needed.
Why Make Air Fryer S’mores?
The air fryer browns marshmallows from the top, a lot like holding them over a fire, but without smoke, sticks or waiting for coals to be ready. A batch takes under 5 minutes, so it is an easy treat for movie nights, birthday parties or rainy days when the children are bored. Air Fryer S’mores Troubleshooting
Marshmallows flew around the basket. They were whole, or not pressed down firmly. Halve them and press the sticky side onto the cracker.
The tops burnt but the inside is firm. The temperature was too high for your machine. Drop to 170°C / 340°F and add a minute.
The chocolate did not melt. It went on after the marshmallow had cooled. Add it the moment the basket opens, or use thinner chocolate.
Fun Twists
- Peanut butter cup: swap the chocolate for a peanut butter cup.
- Cookie s’mores: use chocolate chip cookies instead of crackers.
- Fruity: add a thin slice of strawberry or banana under the chocolate.
- Salted caramel: use caramel-filled chocolate and a pinch of sea salt.
